Mission Golf and Fitness is a state of the art athletic center that provides space for locals to participate in various sports and healthy activities in a downtown setting. The athletic center features a driving range that serves both the public as well as the First Tee chapter of San Francisco. The First Tee is a youth organization that introduces children to the game of golf while also help them build character and social skills. The driving range is situated in the heart of the property, with netting on all sides, allowing users to spectate golf players from unique angles. The golf range acts as a datum from which all programs and design decisions are based on. For example, the diagrid structure is inspired by the cross pattern of the safety net that stops flying golf balls.
